...too unrealistic?
I'm really thinking about pushing UNCG and UNCW instead of NYU and Juliard, since they both have strong drama programs and they're instate, so they're more realistic.
I'd rather have us be together and delayed in our NYC dreams for 4 morey ears than be scattered all over the place with only a few of us in the city, you know? I'll probably hold off NYU until I'm ready for graduate film school...
Any thoughts?

Hmmm, I definitely encourage you to think the sky is the limit. Since it's so early in the game of life (you're 14....). But thinking in-state is more realistic.
I'm not sure what kind of theatre/film departments UNCG and UNCW have. I think G has a good school of music, at least their music building is nice.
UNC Charlotte has like no arts at all....
~Tyler, thinking about grad school himself.

UNCW has great film and drama, so I'm told. UNCG has good drama and music.

No way Ho say! I'd love to keep the group together but I'm not going to turn down one of the most famous arts schools! can always meet up with you later, and I'd rather live my college years in new york anyway. This group is great but I also need to be concerned about where my own life is going.

Since when have we been limited by realism anyway?

Since when have we been limited by realism anyway? Normally, I'd agree, but FNY is all about realism - FNY, despite what many of you think, is not some crazy dream to be abandoned when we grow up. Its a way of planning out or futures to make sure we can stay together and make it to NYC!

^Good point.
I also agree with Nina: Your college career shouldn't be too heavily influenced by your friends. Ultimately, you're not spending $100,000 to be with your friends. It's about an education, wherever that might be, and whoever it might be with.

Understandable, Nina. I'm the unlucky one who has to worry about everyone else on top of me, since I'm "in charge" of the group...
