The theatre department at my college (Palm Beach Atlantic University) was in desparate need of an accompanist for this upcoming show, and guess who they asked. Me! I'm excited, because it'll be a good experience and it'll pay well ($30 an hour). It's also a challenging experience because theatre majors don't count and subdivide beats. I'm playing these songs: "I'm the Greatest Star" from Funny Girl "A Part of That" from The Last Five Years (which is amazing!) "All For You" from Suessical "A Stud and a Babe" from....um, I don't know. "Footloose" from Footloose Yeah, so it's fun, and the freshmen theatre majors are really good actors. Singing....not so much. But that's why there's a separate school for music majors.
