We've touched on this quite a bit in the Homosexuality thread (reading through it, we also touched quite a bit on atheism in there, which is kinda weird), but I just wanted to know what your opinions were on society's ideas on gender roles.

I have pretty freaking weird ideas about gender.
The most tame being that I think cross-dressing is totally normal.
Anyway, I think that everyone is a mix of male and female on the inside (on different levels) and gender stereotypes pretty much suck. I think a male should be able to do whatever a female can do, and a female should be able to do whatever a male can do.
Except for, you know, biological processes. Ew. Mpreg will never ever be okay.
Oh, and I think sex changes are weird. They wouldn't be necessary if there were no gender stereotypes, anyway.

I completely agree! I've always thought, physchologically, people are their own personalized mix of masculine and feminine traits.

I'm a tom boy, so I'm stereotyped as a lesbian or I'm just called a guy. AND I'M NOT. I SWEAR. I'M NOT A GUY. AND I LIKE BOYS. I just dislike most girly crap.

Alright, I think we all pretty much agree. I'll just make my opinion known:
To me, there's no such thing as "feminine" or "masculine".
Yup.

I think it's okay for a guy to wash dishes or for a girl to throw a baseball. I'll put it that way.

LOL, I was using an example, Maria. I think it's okay for guy to do some girl things and girls to do some guy things. Yet, guys shouldn't put on make-up (except for shows, of course) and girls shouldn't, like...IDK, actually.

Allan, I was just using "washing the dishes" as a general term to make my point.

lol!!! Yeah...
Wow. There are so many chain letters I can post in this thread about this kinda thing, but I think that would just be a waste of time...
Basically, they're all about how guys should know exactly what every girl is thinking and be the "perfect boyfriend"...
*sigh*

Now...are these actual chain "letters"? I didn't know people SENT letters anymore... Needless to say, I've never gotten one of those
