If by finished, you mean when the last floor will be completed, then in 2010. It may be topped out in 2010, but will open in early 2011. "Open" as in office workers working in it. The same goes for WTC Tower 3 and WTC Tower 4. WTC Tower 2 - not till late 2011. The foundation and PATH relocation phases are completed. All that's left to do is build the building's lower floors, which, starting now, will take seven months, and then the tower itself, which will take over a year. But you'll be able to see it in April or May. Right now all you can see is its core. The lowest floor of the Freedom Tower: One day, it will, in simple terms, be a place that's connected to the rest of Manhattan Island, because it's connected to the WFC, other towers in the area, and trainsit station. For the Freedom Tower, there's still A LOT of work to do before it looks anything like a building, BUT the most boring, slowest and hardest steps are finally over. Building a skyscraper once its foundation is complete happens faster than most people can understand because it's almost like building a Knex tower, but not quite. A site I made: 3wtc.proboards107.com/index.cgiI may stick with it. Comments welcomed.

in that picture you showed it looked really tall, how come its going to take so long Because its very different from other skyscrapers and it's not taking much longer since the most boring and slowest phase of the project is completed. There's no more delay(s). The BD is the tallest building in the world now, but the Freedom Tower is still the world's tallest office building, but maybe not the tallest building in NYC because taller ones are and will be planned. There's an elevation for a 1,900 foot tower for the new MSG, but I doubt that project. Any building like that takes years to built. In less than a year, construction workers will actually be working inside the Freedom Tower itself. Just because you don't see much progress doesn't mean anything: For 2007: • 35,000 cubic yards of concrete poured • 3,400 concrete trucks • 2,200 tons of structural steel erected • over 1,000 tons of steel rebar in place • over 40,000 cubic yards of debris removed • over 220 rock anchors drilled • tower cranes erected • building structure near street level

Construction on WTC Tower 4 and WTC Tower 3 starts in a few days. The newest skyscraper for Manhattan: "New York Tower." Over 1,000 feet tall/over 70 floors, but no exact numbers yet. And finally, the MoMA tower will be 1,150 feet tall, 100 feet taller than the Chrysler Building.
