Hey, Ebola, I usually am a spoiler person, but since this is the last book, I've made an exception to my rule and actually DON'T want to be spoiled this time around.
And I know Tyler and Joy will impale your head on a stick if you spoil it for them.

...and moving the discussion away from idiotic YTMMD jerkfaces... (though I'll admit, "drive-by spoiler" was pretty hilarious. Probably because I decided to read the entire book before touching the internet.) Joy just re-read Chamber of Secrets, and is now, once again, a Potthead. : D (as demonstrated during the hour-long HP conversation she had with Swoosh the previous night... >_>) Anyway, what's everyone's favorite books? I think the second through fourth are absolutely astounding, while the first is rather boring, (I liked it when I was little though) and the fifth and sixth are okay-ish. (They have some lovely moments, but are overall unfocused.) And who else wants Voldy to win the war? : D *is a proud Voldy fangirl* Harry's a jerk anyways. And shippers! ^___^ Who else thinks Ginny is a ho'? And else who thinks Hedwig x Nagini is awesome? >___> (<.< >.> who said that?) And Ron and Hermione are sooooo cute!! ^-^ And I really love Luna x Neville, even though Jo shot it down. ;_; And speaking of Luna, the Luna for the OOTP movie is so perfectly awesome looking! Umbridge looks great too! I'm speaking in exclamation points! Bellatrix looks terrible though! I love Bellatrix, even though she kills off my future husband. ;_; I still love Snape too, even though he killed my BFF. BUT OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR BOOK 7 AND MOVIE 5!!!!! ._. *takes a chill pill* EDIT: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ybegs3EZhmgOH MY GOD I THINK I JUST HAD AN ANEURYSM.

I'm rereading 6 right now, and I'm finding that it wasn't as bad as I remembered it being. Same with 5. There's some excellent dialogue in those books.
I love 1 2 and 3 for their nostalgia factor. I think I'm the oldest Harry Potter fan here; I read Book 1 in early 2000, when I was 11. It was the perfect age to start the series, because Harry is 11 in Book 1. When I started reading HP, book 4 hadn't even been released yet, and the movies were just rumor. And nobody had even thought of making a theme park....
I'd say my overall favorite book is 3, because it's when the series really starts to take off. Also, book 3 is the last in the series to have no deaths. Subsequent books become bittersweet, even though they're quite good.

First fact: That "spoiler" was so NOT JK Rolling's style of writing. More like pathetic fan trying to be cool.
Second Fact: OMG AHHHH I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT HP 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 But, I HATE the Umbridge. *sulk*

XD Yeah, the third is amazing, probably my second favorite next to the fourth. (My favorites change a lot, though) But dude...fourth book, bittersweet? Cedric was a loser. Who cares. But the sixth book made me bawl my eyes out. ;_; Tori, why do you hate the Umbridge? Sure, she doesn't look like a toad, but she's got the whole evil demented old lady thing down.

Yeah, get enough HP fans in one room, and we can go on for hours.
I just had a thought:
Didn't JK say that "a character will die in Half-Blood Prince" ? Because, Aragog died in that book. So if only one character were to die, Dumbledore could still be alive. It could have just been a ruse, with Dumbledore faking his death. omgz, dumbledoreisnotdead.com'D!!!!!
JK also mentioned to Daniel Radcliffe that "Dumbledore is giving me trouble." That can mean three things: Dumbledore is not dead! Harry will see Dumbledore's portrait on the wall of the Headmistress's office. Aberforth Dumbledore, bartender of the Hog's Head will FINALLY say something.

I am madly in love with Tyler now. AND I LOVE ARRY POTTA!
~The girl who drew a lightning bolt on her forehead and ran around school yelling "ARRY POTTA" in the prep's stuck-up faces.

Nope, J.K. has stated specifically that he's dead. But I think he died from the fall, rather than the spell, because if you observe the effects of the spell Snape casts on good ol' Albus, it much more resembles a "Stupefy" than an "Avada Kedavra" - all the Avada Kedavra" victims we've seen in the past have merely crumpled in a heap. So that means that Snape nonverbally sent a Stupefy to Dumbledore (which would explain the emphasis on nonverbal spells throughout the book), which means that he was not intending to kill him (although he did) which means he is GOOD!
The first one JKR has shot down, the second one is anyone's guess, and the third one JKR has confirmed.

That seems rather conspiratal... (sp?) I believe that Snape is good, also, but I think the fact that Dumbledore wanted Snape to kill him is much more plausible. I always assumed that if you verbally say a spell, it automatically overrides what you're thinking. (It's been a while since I read HBP, though...) I'm hoping that Peeves will become a key character, just to PO the movie directors. XD And does anyone know how long, comparitively, Book Seven will be? I'm hoping pretty long, but not pointlessly drabbling like Book Five...

I dunno... it just seems to much like a Stupefy to be a coincidence to me... We know Snape is powerful enough to fool either Dumbledore or Voldemort (possibly both, if you believe the "Snape Works For Snape" theory), so he could probably pull off something complex like that.
You got your wish - Deathly Hallows clocks in at 784 pages - longer than GoF, shorther than OotP.
