And if it's not okay for Buddhist/Atheist children to go home crying, how is it okay for Jewish and Christian kids to have their worldview shunned in the schools?

((and what are these so-called "hippie schools"? O.o)) Ehh, Erwin Montessori, and this private school: Greensboro Montessori. I know that Erwin is because I've been to one of Josey's classes, and they've asked us about the Big Bang before... oh, and when I went there for Josey's birthday, they sang a song about "Mother Earth", and they were all sitting on a rug with a candle in the middle and a globe, and every time they talked about Josey getting older, they'd sing the month song about "Mother Earth" and "the stars" and then turn the globe once. It was nice, but kinda weird...

And if it's not okay for Buddhist/Atheist children to go home crying, how is it okay for Jewish and Christian kids to have their worldview shunned in the schools? Because...teachers would get shot if they said "WE ALL COME FROM BUDDHA!" and stuff, the same way they'd get shot if they were like "JESUS IS YOUR SAVIOR!" Most teachers give a little disclaimer, like, "if this is not what you believe that's ok but just listen because you need to hear this side too" and stuff. It's kinda pointless to teach the seven days theory, because no one will listen if they're not already a Christian, and if they are, their faith should be strong enough not to follow the sciency stuff. ((at the risk of sounding stupid: what exactly is intelligent design? >.>))

Intelligent Design is basically a new name for Creatonism. But the most important thing to understand that Inteliigent Design is NOT synonomous with Judeo-Christian creation beliefs (a.k.a. ZOMG SEVEN DAYS). Intelligent Design is merely the name given to the theory, supported by multitudes of scientific findings and evidence, that there is SOME form of creator, although it may not necesarrilly be the Jehovah God from the Bible/Torrah.
Basically, Intelligent Design is another fact-supported scientific theory that many non-Christian/Jewish/Muslim scientists believe.

Oh. Well that's the same thing as the Big Bang then. ¬_¬

In a way, yes. Intelligent Design seperates itself more from the theories of Evolution and Natural Selection than it does the Big Bang - most modern creationsists believe in the Big Bang theory.

Exactly. As I said before, the Big Bang is very strong evidence FOR Intelligent Design.

Why did there have to be all that planet crap. If god created it, why cant it just be poof its there.
It says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Not "In the beginning, God made planets go boom" and you know what I mean :/

No one ever said that planets went boom. I think that it's up to God to decide by what means to create a universe. It's like asking, "Why did God part the Red Sea? Couldn't he have just snapped his fingers and POOF they're on the other side, the Egyptians are dead, and the promised land is a five-minute walk away?" The means by which God chooses to do something are up to Him, and in the case of the universe, the evidence points to the Big Bang as God's chosen "mode of creation"
As for myself, I see the Big Bang as a demonstration of God's power and creativity, and our "POOF it's there!" idea only evidences the limited thinking of humanity. I see the art, the poetry, the celestial dance in the collisions and separations of particles, the formation of matter, the collisions of massive clouds and galaxies, and the gradual formation of the perfect home for humanity.

and our "POOF it's there!" idea only evidences the limited thinking of humanity. Actually, I think people think the "poof it's there" idea isn't because their "thinking is limited", I think it's more because according to how they know the Bible, that's what they're going to believe. And since the Bible apparently isn't very descriptive, they're going to believe exactly what it says. If the Bible said that God created the universe while playing ping-pong and sculpted every part of the world out of tapioca pudding, they'd believe it... well, I guess that idea is kind of weird, but my point is; I think that they believe it because that's what the Bible tells us, not because it's "simple" for them to believe.

It says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Not "In the beginning, God made planets go boom" and you know what I mean It never says how anyone created anything. It just says that he created the earth. IT NEVER SAYS GOD POINTED, SAID THE WORD EARTH AND IT WAS THERE. NO HE CREATED IT. BUT WE DON'T KNOW HOW. WE HAVE FOUND PROOF THAT THINGS HAPPENED A CERTIAN WAY. SCIENTIFIC PROOF WHY NOT BELIEVE IT? IT IS POSSIBLE

Because scientific proof also says that there is a bigfoot.

Nina, back your arguments so you don't make random staments and look like a total idiot, plzkthx.
and Randi, there is no proof of the Big Bang, only theories. I agree with you, but never say that something like that is total 100% fact.
teehee...devil's advocate is fun. you get to poke holes in people's arguments on BOTH SIDES! =D

Well, I would contest that there is very strong scientific proof for the Big Bang...spatial expansion, cosmic microwave background, interstellar material dispersion, it all really points to the Standard Model...
